Professional development for teachers can take a myriad of different shapes and descriptions from constructing your own ripple tank for physics to making shadow puppets as a learning tool for younger students. These two items may seem unrelated, but in fact they are the same thing; each is part of a teacher’s repertoire of creativity to help learning take place in the classroom. On March 2, IC teachers, administrators and ERC office hosted the third in a series of five day-long workshops open to all public and private school teachers in Lebanon. Public school teachers are invited at no cost and private school faculty pay a modest fee.
IC teachers and administrators regularly attend professional conferences and workshops in Lebanon and other countries. During the current academic year alone, approximately one-third of the IC faculty has attended a professional development event in Lebanon or elsewhere. They are very aware of the benefits and enrichment for everyone involved when people share knowledge. This is the premise of this sequence of workshops.
