Middle and Secondary School Social Studies teacher, Christian Tawtel, recently organized a photo exhibition “On Buddha’s Path” at St. Joseph University in Beirut from January 7-18. The theme of the exhibition focused on the figure of Buddha in Sri Lanka. The event exposed the extraordinary green nature of Ceylon, its rich cultural heritage, and the ravages produced by the 2004 tsunami. Mr. Tawtel’s showcase truly exhibits the IC Mission Statement’s intent to encourage our students’ capabilities of compassion and initiative and reflects an awareness of the interdependence of nations in all their diversity.
