Some groups performed to add creativity to their formal research.

As a major term-end project, Mrs. Nawal Haddad asks her 2nd middle students to do research as a basis for group or individual presentations to the class. The theme everyone must work with is How We Find Ourselves. The focus may be on virtually anything and included hobbies, music, job, talents acting and language. The information students acquire as they do research for their topic must be documented and included in the presentation. A group describing self-definition through clothes and appearance discuss their findings on the fashion design culture and industry. The fine art research presents some biographical information on favorite well known painters and paintings.
As they work through research material in books, periodicals and on-line, students will discover as much about themselves as they do about their topic. Interest may grow with increased knowledge or they might find out enough to know they really have no interest at all. In either case, they become more informed on a subject of their choice.
Options for presentation are open to student interpretation of what is important and how to convey the information.
