 | | Terminale students followed a guide sheet prepared by Mrs. Boulad to help maximize their appreciation and understanding of what they saw. |
During the winter, the Sursock Museum galleries were the setting for a combined exhibit of Lebanese art pieces from the Sursock and Ministère de la Culture collections. The show is representative of the last two-hundred years and was open for only six weeks. Mrs. Samia Boulad felt the show was a valuable opportunity to familiarize some Terminale students with Lebanese artists while they experience different artistic techniques and styles. Mrs. Boulad prepared a series of guide questions in advance for students to use as they walked the halls of the Sursock. Fourteen different observations were expected of them ranging from realistic to naive and landscape styles and including different mediums such as watercolour, charcoal, acrylic and engraving. The final lesson is an evaluation of one specific work of art in terms of content, elements and principles of design.
