On Saturday, January 26, the Educational Resource Center at IC hosted the first in a planned three session series of outreach professional development workshops for teachers and administrators from public and private schools in Lebanon. There were four-hundred eighty-one attending the first session with one-hundred twenty-five coming from public schools. Support from the U.S. Agency for International Development allowed for a discounted registration fee enabling workshop organizers to accomodate more teachers.
Workshop topics are widely varied covering several academic disciplines and other aspects of student life. IC teachers present workshops in their fields developed by them as a result of research, experience and material learned in workshops and seminars they have attended in Lebanon and internationally. Theory and practical application mesh with experience and original ideas to produce interesting themes contrived to facilitate discussion and implementation for participants.
A complete list, with a brief description of each of the seventy workshop titles, and registration information can be viewed by clicking ERC on the menu bar above and then Professional Development Workshops in the sidebar.
