Each year AMIS (the Association for Music in International Schools) sponsors a series of music festivals to bring young musicians and music teachers from international schools to rehearse and perform together.

In early October of this year, six students (Elie Ghoulam, Christopher Khoury, George Owayshek, Nessim Stevenson, Omar Talhouk, and Ataya El-Tibi) from IC’s Boys Choir attended the AMIS festival at the Frankfurt International School in Germany.

Under the direction of Mrs. Lydia Sabra, the boys began rehearsing early in September, after school and on weekends. Their hard work paid off as the concert conductor singled them out for praise, noting that the IC boys knew their songs (in English, French, German, Latin and Spanish) by heart and were attentive and well-disciplined even after hours of practice. IC was the only school representing the Middle East; all other schools were from Europe. The combined choir practiced for two-and-a-half days and gave a gala performance on Saturday evening.

Congratulations to the Boys Choir for being such good musicians and ambassadors for IC!
