Earning an IC diploma includes a community service requirement. This requirement is in keeping with the IC commitment to educate and graduate compassionate young men and women with an awareness of the interdependence of nations, cultures and individuals. The Community Service Program activities are designed to expose students to the social challenges they will face as future leaders and encourage them to view community service as a life long commitment. The graduation minimum criterion is participation in each of six, one month long, community service projects over the final three years at IC.
Every project consists of hands-on service activities, weekly discussions, student-designed presentations and production of a monthly newsletter. The six service categories are mentally and physically disabled persons, environmental awareness, orphans, health and Lebanese heritage. Community service has a serious objective with future implications as far reaching and important as academic training.

During Ramadan, students serve iftars to their orphan friends.

In spite of and because of its serious purpose, this program also functions very well as a social venue. Program director, Miss Hiba Othman provides her students with an added lesson by asking them to sponsor themselves without using the allotted budget. Much of this is accomplished through fund raising events supplemented with student donations. The fund raising events are usually an occasion for fun.
Community service students sponsor and enjoy a Halloween costume party and dance.

As part of their environmental enrichment, community service students use Arbor Day to plant trees on campus.
