Music lifts us to a higher, better place and the music of children carries us to an exalted place. The music performed by the IC and ACS student members of the Association for Music in International Schools Honor Choir of 2004 is more of young adults than children but was a marvelous inspiration nonetheless for the audience at their concert on campus following their triumph as members of the prestigious AMIS Honor Choir in The Hague. Earlier in March we were also fortunate to enjoy the first concert dedicated to student original compositions in music featuring eight students’ work for instrumentals and vocals. Those titles are included in this missive from Mr. Korfali: To all our young and talented composers: Is there a Mystery in the Paradise that will never Stop Haunting Me? I had Feelings of being Perdue in a state of confusion between a Stream of Consciousness and a river of Rêve. Suddenly, I was in Heaven drinking Champagne on Ice with a Camaïeu of glasses. Oh! Let Me Breath for ever these New Tastes of the Mystique and you will never have to shout Don’t You Cry of Anger since you have made me live these moments in the L’haut de là.

Students from Middle as well as Secondary School were invited to perform original pieces.

Students were encouraged, supported and accompanied by their IC Music Department teachers.

IC and ACS students auditioned for and participated in the prestigious AMIS Honor Choir at The Hague in Holland.
