Girls are ready on the block for the breaststroke event.

The first IC swim gala of this academic year took place at the Lebanese American University pool on Friday, October 12. The Physical Education Department plans on three of these intramural swim events per year. This is in conjunction with and complimentary to the swim program at IC. Ras Beirut students in 2nd and Septième participate in swimming as part of their PE curriculum. Students in Kg.II through Septième at Ain Aar swim three times per week.
The swim gala offers an opportunity for all IC swimmers in upper elementary and middle school to come together and enjoy what they are learning. There are timed races in freestyle and breaststroke, then for a finale, all the swimmers are divided into two teams for a freestyle relay race. Excitement reaches a higher pitch as individuals strive for their best in the team effort.

The relay, as the final event, involves all swimmers divided into two teams.
