The excitement of a new school year never loses its shine. Students, teachers and administrators all have their annual customs. There are information sessions to arrange and attend, books and other supplies to be bought, and policies to understand. Several orientation meetings are scheduled across campus from nursery to secondary level. Students making the transition from Middle School to the Secondary come for a day before school opens to familiarize themselves with Rockefeller Hall and have a tour of campus. At the Elementary level, parents of students moving from Preschool to lower Elementary meet with administrators and teachers to learn more about what to expect from their child’s experience at school and the format and goals of the IC curriculum. At Ain Aar, Preschool and Lower Elementary Director Lama Khyar introduced people and programs to parents, including the Primary Years Program as a thematic approach to teaching that addresses the whole child.
